Global Presence · Six Regional Hubs

Six Regional Hubs.
One Universal Mandate.

OLJA operates globally, with each regional hub responsible for driving legal reform in its region and engaging with the relevant international legal bodies. The mandate is universal: no unjust law, anywhere, is beyond challenge.

Utrecht, Netherlands
Headquarters & Coordination

The OLJA headquarters in Utrecht serves as the legal and administrative home of the organisation, the coordination centre for all six regional hubs, and the primary hub for European human rights advocacy.

MENA Region Hub
Priority Region

The MENA hub is OLJA's most urgent operational priority. The region contains some of the world's most repressive domestic legal systems, the most active armed conflicts generating IHL violations, and the weakest international accountability mechanisms. Arabic-language capacity is central to this hub.

Sub-Saharan Africa
Africa Hub

The Africa hub focuses on post-conflict justice, discriminatory domestic legislation, and engagement with the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights. OLJA also engages critically with the African Union's human rights mechanisms and the ICC's disproportionate focus on African defendants.

Americas Hub

The Americas hub engages with femicide legislation, indigenous peoples' rights, and the Inter-American human rights system. OLJA also works on corporate accountability treaties in the region and environmental law as a human rights instrument.

Asia & Pacific
Asia-Pacific Hub

The Asia-Pacific hub addresses press freedom laws, labour legislation, minority rights, and the significant IHL gaps in non-international armed conflicts in the region. OLJA engages with ASEAN human rights mechanisms and advocates for their strengthening.

North America Hub

The North America hub focuses on multilateral advocacy at UN institutions, diaspora engagement, fundraising networks, and Security Council reform campaigns. It is the hub most focused on OLJA's international law reform agenda rather than domestic legal reform.
